They granted me an extension on my license, and I have until January to come up with the proper documents. I’ll be heading back there in September after my check up at Mayo Clinic. A commenter on last night’s post suggested I just drive the rig there this time to be sure to have everything with me. After looking at the map this evening, I might just do that.
I also got an email from Stephanie at Anahuac NWR today saying they have a spot for me this fall if I’m still interested in returning there. The timing is good, so I may just do that, and travel from Sioux Falls to Houston on some roads I haven’t traversed before. I do love the work I do at Anahuac, along with the people, and there are always birds to see.
After I was done at the DMV, I drove the 250 miles to Kasson, MN. I sure did miss the rest areas being open in Minnesota. Maybe by September the budget crisis will be over. I was able to make my check-up appointments while I was in town before checking into the motel. I needed to relax a bit before heading over to my son, Andy’s house. I had told them I would take the whole family out to dinner tonight.
I also wanted to get to know my youngest granddaughter a little better. Ruby Cecilia was only a month old when I was here last May. She is a real cutey, and hasn’t gotten to the clinging to mom stage yet.
Her four year old brother, Seth, wanted me to take his picture in the chair. What an imp he is. He came right up to me and said, ”I remember you, you have a camper!”
Oldest brother, Joseph, wanted me to know he could do a pull up. He also wants to go camping with me. He will be starting kindergarten this September. It’s a busy household! Joseph was my guide at the Chinese Buffet we went to, and was sure to point out that I should have some of the walnut shrimp. It was his favorite. What a hoot it was sitting by him. What a difference a year makes with these young people.
DADDY’S HOME!!
This was my favorite pic of the day. Ruby looks so small in front of Andy. Andy is a good involved father, and I’m proud of him.
Thanks for stopping by… talk to you later, Judy
Looks like a beautiful family and you are entitled to be very proud of him. That's what us moms are for. I too love that last photo, you can tell she loves her daddy. :)

ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful to see fathers so involved with their children. Beautiful photo of daddy and Ruby. Yes, you can be very proud!
ReplyDeleteThat picture of Daddy and Ruby just melted my heart. So glad you are having fun spending time with them. But if you're not careful, they will wear you out.
ReplyDeleteVery cute kids! Glad you will be allowed to keep moving for the next six months:)
ReplyDeleteGood thing you are still a legal driver! Great pictures, especially the one of your son and his little daughter. Very sweet!
ReplyDeleteLooking at the little girl made me smile and then the boys made it more so. You are very lucky!
ReplyDeleteAndy looks like a fine man and that's the way a Dad or Grandpa should be involved, if you don't stay in involved, then someone less desirable will do just that. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna.
ReplyDeleteSo enjoyable for us to read your post this morning. Your pictures and words convey a happy and healthy family. Like you, the bottom photo was our favorite with little Ruby looking up at her daddy. Very nice!!!

ReplyDeleteThanks to your son for serving, first and foremost..Those grandkids are beautiful and have such wonderful names!! Be safe coming back to the midwest heat!!
ReplyDeleteAs for being legal..I haven't been legal for all of my life..What's that saying??Everything I do is either illegal, immoral or fattening :-))
What a super great family you have. The photo of Andy and Ruby Cecilia brought tears to my eyes. You sure can be proud! :)
ReplyDeleteLovely family. Your pictures made me grin.
ReplyDeleteSince you already have your overnight receipt you might want to stay in September at the Big Sioux Recreation Area east of Sioux Falls. Much calmer park than the Yogi Bear one. :)
Judy's son is as wonderful as he appears in this photo! I can brag because he was a former student of mine. This photo of Andy and Ruby should go in a contest.
ReplyDeleteDitto here on being grateful for Andy's service.
ReplyDeleteTell us more about his role in the Army.
So glad you're legal again, even if it's just for six months. We'd miss you if you got deported... ;c)
