With the crowds around for Pioneer weekend, I’ve stayed pretty close to home today. That gave me the opportunity to work on improving my skills with Blogger, and Picasa3. The result is the more you try to improve things, the more questions you have. First, I tried to make things easier for folks posting a comment to my blog entries. I think I accomplished that, but I won’t know until someone lets me know.
I’d like to have their comments show up under the post as they make them, but I can’t figure out how to do that. On many blogs that I follow, the comments appear directly below the post as you’re reading. I like that. I don’t want to make the same comment that others have as I read a blog, and being able to read the comments before I comment is good, I think. That’s what I’d like to have happen on my blog. How do I do that?
I also had a reader ask if I knew about the new Blogger stats feature. To that I say, I have no idea. :)
Now for a report on the Hard (Red) Rock Bird Cafe. The hummingbirds have literally disappeared, and the same can be said for the birds visiting the seed feeders. What’s up with that? It’s too early for migration, so it’s a mystery to me. I changed the nectar in the hummingbird feeder tonight, hoping that will improve things. How can you get the quintessential hummingbird picture if no hummers are around? Maybe they’re stuffing themselves on the wildflower nectar and mosquitoes!
I did take a few pictures this evening of a soaring Swainson’s Hawk over the rig. Not an exceptional picture, but definitive enough for identification purposes. :)
I did drive the eight miles to the laundromat today, so I did accomplish something. :) I guess I’ll do the vacuuming tomorrow, and I’ve decided to put off the defrosting of the frig until I’m closer to my departure time. How’s that for procrastination!
Thanks for stopping by….talk to you later, Judy

Kathy, It showed up, and thanks so much! :)
ReplyDeleteJudy, the more you experiment the more you learn... just like photography. You are doing great and seem to be having fun too.
ReplyDeleteYour blog looks really good!

Hi Judy, as I'm typing this comment it is below your blog and the previous 3 comments are right above, so I can read them all as I'm typing. If that's what you wanted, then you seem to have accomplished it - congrats!
ReplyDeleteand it's always been this way for me!?
ReplyDeletegreat job on the procrastinating; I'm doing the same on making a blog entry!
tomorrow we're moving to Voyeugers National Park...I'll just do my blog through yours! How will that be? lol I'll probably get more of a reaction and more "followers"!!
Then, how come I don't see that when I view my blog???
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure why you can't see the comments - mine are visible to me for the day that I make the relevant post. Yours are definitely appearing right below your blog though.
ReplyDeleteSo how did you do it? I see comments below your blog. I don't know if I did before, When I view my blog it tells me the number of comments, but I have to click on comments to see them. Could you look and tell me if you see them below? Leave the answer in a comment.
ReplyDeleteRe Bird:Maybe a big storm or earthquake is coming.
I have had the same problem & have tried repeatedley to have comments show up under the blog rather than the numbers but have not been successful at it. I did see an email in my Gmail box about Blogger Stats but haven't read it yet......
ReplyDeleteI too want to know how to make those comments appear under the blog--let's ask Rick!! Here in Montana I have so many birds at the beginning of spring and summer and about this time of year the numbers dramatically decrease--I've always thought maybe the birds are finding other things to eat such as berries??
