Yesterday, I posted that if my shades came in today, and were being installed, that I would sing “Zippety-Doo-Dah”. Well, CHUCK sort of challenged me by saying he’d like to see a video of that. Okay, Chuck, here goes. I give everyone fair warning, that I am no singer, but a gauntlet thrown… (you may want to skip the video!)
I hope you all understand that I had no idea how to do this, but my #1 son, Daniel, walked me through the process over the phone. I do know when to call in reinforcements! I can’t believe I got it done. One of the funny parts of getting this done, is that I called the video Zip (short for zippety). It seems techie types have a different connotation for a zip file.
If you remember the pic from last night, it showed the heavy drapes over the windows. The drapes were nice, but didn’t do much for reflecting the sun’s rays.
So far, the sun shields and night shades have been installed on the two side windows. The windshield shades have been installed, but for tonight, only the night shade is hooked up to work. Tomorrow morning, the automatic sun screen on the windshield will be operational. I am more than happy with the results so far. What a difference it made this afternoon to have those sun screens up. On my last rig, I had the kind of sun screens that I had to install myself on the outside of the windows. That meant climbing up precariously on a ladder to get them snapped on. I really had a struggle with them as I could barely reach the top snaps, and more often than not my wrists gave out before I could get all the snaps attached. I also only put them up when I was staying for extended periods. Now, I can have the sun shades up in mere seconds! Halleluiah!
Looks like I’ll be on the road for Indiana on Thursday morning. I’m more than ready.
Thanks for stopping by…. talk to you later, Judy
Oh, i am keeping that for when i feel low, it will make me HAPPY!!! Zippity!!!
ReplyDeleteThose shades look really neat/cool!!!! :)
Loved the video!! you made me laugh out loud, what a great spirit you have. Need to think aobut something different for our windshield, old curtains are needing to be gone!! Be safe as you head out!!
ReplyDeleteLove the song and you did it especially well. Yup! I've saved it, too.
ReplyDeleteI've got window shade envy! those are awesome!

ReplyDeleteI can't look at the video right now, due to being at my limit for internet until the 13th, but I'll come back then and take a listen. Those shades look sooo much better.
ReplyDeleteYou are a kick, Judy. And you keep your word, too! Zippety doo dah back at you! Your new shades look great. I'm happy that you are happy with them. Will you be singing "On the Road Again" for us? ;)
ReplyDeleteJudy, what fun! Loved the video so much, and am tickled to see you get your great new shades. Gotta love all that light, but after a bit, it's nice to be able to regulate it as you choose.
ReplyDeleteGreat job Mom!!
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job on the video!! Love the new shades -- I want them...now I want your fridge & your shades! Be safe as you move on down the road!
ReplyDeleteI agree - Great job!! And you learned something new in the process. You will love your shades more and more. Even driving down the road they work so much better than the visors. You can just lower the night shade to block out the sun. Wonderful.
ReplyDeleteNice to see you so happy and the video was great. Pretty good tune too ☺ I hope the shades make a big difference in the heat.
ReplyDeleteWhat a good sport for doing the video Judy and you sounded pretty darn good. The shades look great and your really going to enjoy the ease of them.
ReplyDeleteYour new 'American Idol' is Judy - The Bird Lady of Blogland!
ReplyDeleteLoved the video. You can sing, unlike the Bell's!!!! Pat
ReplyDeleteCool shades, cool video & maybe some cool weather ahead of you:))
ReplyDeleteThe shades are looking nice Judy. Ellie and I both really enjoyed your singing video this morning however we are concerned that you might give up your retirement and go back to work singing at parties. In any case, I now know that I will never-ever “challenge” or “dare” you.

Enjoyed the video ... but lesson learned, I'm not picking up any gauntlets that might be thrown down, so I'd better watch what I write :-)))
ReplyDeleteWhat a difference the shades make. The interior looks much brighter and even larger! Can't wait to see the video go "viral" and wind up on "The Early Show"!
