Well, the weatherman got it right again today. With temps forecasted in the triple digits, I was out early this morning to get things ready for my departure tomorrow. By the time I got the DISH packed, dumped the tanks, swept and rolled up the outside carpet, and put away everything from outside I was dripping wet. I had to take my glasses off because they were fogged up and the sweat was pooling in them. Goodness, it was sure hot and muggy! All I have left for tomorrow is to unhook the utilities, pull in the slides, raise the levelers and hook up the toad.
Since I’ll be spending the next week at Jenny Wiley State Park, Kentucky, in the Appalachian Mountains, I have no idea if I will have air card reception. So, if you don’t hear from me, know that I’m just in an internet dead zone. I looked up the forecast for that area, and after tomorrow, temps are supposed to cool some with highs only in the mid 80’s. I can deal with that!
Now I’m off for a dip in the pool one last time. Apparently, the pool at the state park is only for the use of the lodge guests. What’s up with that?

ReplyDeleteAnyone paying for a room or a site at the park should be able to use the pool!!! My experience is that pools are usually not used. Every time I took my grandkids to my condo pool or an RV park pool, we were the only ones there.
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering, though, how do they know if you are at the hotel or not??? If you have the nerve to do it, just walk in like you belong there and jump in. If you get caught, play dumb. Unless they have a coded gate or something like that.
We had that heat and humidity all last week, storms came from the northwest and moved it all southeast.... Lucky you!!!! Can't wait to see our electric bill!!! Stay cool my friend, and travel safely.

You are really organized. I guess you must have full hook ups to have dumped the tanks the day before. You are all set for a quick get away. Hope it does turn out to be cooler where you are headed.
ReplyDeleteJim has most of our stuff ready to go in the morning. We'll need to unplug the electric and hitch up but that's about it. Our humidity isn't anything like yours but even still, he was up early this morning to get it done. I'm hoping you have internet but we'll hear from you when you can post. Be safe.

ReplyDeleteJudy...We finally got some cooling temps here..It was 107 on our deck at 4PM...but it is now 9Pm and it is 79 degrees on our deck..The Northeast winds are rolling through, but still NO RAIN...and none forcast for another week...All my plants are soooo suffering, no matter how much I water...Glad you are moving on..hopefully for a cooler climate and some rain..

PA is also forcasted in the 80's for the next week. Just had very hot (mid and upper 90's) and muggy the past few days. Is western PA on your schedule to visit by any chance? It's beautiful here :)
