Live Writer woes

Well, I had a post to publish last night, but like everyone else that uses Live Writer, I couldn't do it.  It's been five years since I've used the Blogger format for posting.  It's kind of like going back in time.  I don't like it one bit.

So, I'm going to wait until they get things fixed.  I hope it's soon.

  2. Bummer. I haven't had anything to write about lately worth blogging so discovered this problem through the other bloggers. Hope as Rick suggested, blogger will get in a fix asap

  3. Thanks for the heads-up Judy. I just found the "official" thread here on the Blogger Help Forum. Sounds like the Google team is working on a fix so we hopefully won't have to wait too long!

  4. I have used MS Word for years. Just cop and paste into blogger with no troubles at all. Then use blogger to insert pictures where you want them.

  5. I still use Blogger -- I guess we're both dinosaurs?

  8. It's interesting what people like and get used to. I use Blogger 99% of the time for posting. When the internet is weak, or I'm almost out of data I'll use Livewriter for a "burst transmission". However, I want what I want! Here's hoping they get it fixed and that Google will be more diligent about testing their code changes before releasing them to production.

  9. Me too Judy. I have had "the wedding" post all set in Livewriter for 3 days now. Sure hope I din't have to move it to WordPress. Looks like it will be really "old news" by the time I can post it.

  10. I'm so computer illiterate that I don't even know what I use... maybe I'll get busy and post today to see if whatever-the-heck I use is working....

  11. I managed to get two posts up using blogger's html page ... copied and pasted from iPages ... but it only works if the photos are links to web-hosted images; doesn't work if you insert photos from the computer. I've been following the official thread on the issue, and indeed the problem has been turned over to the Blogger team for resolution ... no timeline though.

  12. Crikey ...... I only ever use blogger. My Secretary (Mum) is computer illiterate and didn't even know you could use anything else. She's NEVER had any problem posting though. She's never heard of live writer.

  14. I've always used a Mac and understand that it is not compatible with LiveWriter, so I just deal with Google, which also is acting up lately. I tried WordPress but thought it was not user friendly either, but I guess it's what you get used to. I would love to find a good email program as well as a decent blogging program - not asking for much, am I?

  15. Yes, I'm having the same problem. Going to try to post directly on Blogger but it's such a pain to insert photos.

  16. Too bad. Looks like the issue is affecting a lot of people. Looking forward to your next post.

  17. Hang in there, hopefully it'll get fixed soon. I had to return to Blogger for my last post, I don't like it because it takes so long for the pictures to be inserted. Live Writer is much better. Fingers crossed, blogging is supposed to be fun, not a headache! :c(

  18. No doubt about Live Writer being a much smoother & user friendly program alright. Google's Blogger team really needs to buckle down & come up with a better writing platform than they have. Why can't they simply learn from Windows Live Writer how to improve their own platform. Inserting photos in Blogger's program is a real PITA. Yes, Live Writer has spoiled many of us for sure............

    1. That surprises me. I can throw a blog together with 12- 20 pictures very quickly and easily in Blogger.

  19. Live Wire is a microsoft product. isn't that a little unrealistic to expect it to work correctly?

  20. I'm way behind on my blog, so didn't know about the issues with LW until a couple of days ago. . .a fellow blogger says he formats his blog post on Word and then posts it. . .guess I'll try that. . .I find Blogger to be a huge hassle. . .will be interested to know if you find a better solution. . .thanks!

  21. I have no idea what Live Writer even is! I've always used Blogger to write my posts. Never had any problems. Occasionally if our wifi signal is weak it takes awhile for photos to load in.
