What a relief!!!

Thanks to Google+, I was able to contact RICK in Canada and he helped me solve my problems with the disappearing picture files in Picasa.  It took about an hour, but everything has come back.  I am so thankful to Rick for helping me out.  He is such a resource for us computer challenged individuals!  Rick and I will be touching base again tomorrow to get to the root of taking care of a permanent fix with an external hard drive.  I can’t tell you how relieved I am.  Perhaps my son or son-in-law could have helped me, but they are so busy with their lives.  I’ll be able to sleep peacefully tonight.  Thanks again, Rick.

I’ll post again tomorrow about the trip I wasn’t able to talk about tonight.  Yahoo!!

Thanks for stopping by… talk to you later,  Judy

  5. After losing some photos myself, I now back up everything I don't want to lose, almost as soon as I have downloaded them. Now I have a mini library of memory cards ;-)

  6. I sure understand that huge sense of relief you are experiencing. Been in that same spot & it's a totally sickening feeling inside to think things have been irretreivably lost. Especially photos. An external hard drive is the way to go for sure.

  7. So glad Rick was able to get your photos back. I know how important they are. I have mine backed up in at least 3 different places, paranoid....yup.

  8. Rick is the Man, truly a lifesaver when it comes to fixing a computer. or advising when it is time to say goodbye to an old one.I lost some photo's from our Wisconsin trip just through my own carelessness, even though I had saved them to a dvd somehow the dvd was accidently thrown away and not missed until after the big green truck took the trash away for the week. I think Karen in Wisconsin also has all the copies so maybe I will ask her to make a cd and send it to me. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna.

  9. What a relief to have your files recovered. I hope one of you will share what the problems and how the files were recovered so others can benefit from your near-disaster.

  10. So glad he could help you. I hate that sick feeling I get when I think I have lost some data or photos I need. It is so easy to become complacent about backing everything up. This was a good reminder for me to get things backed up. Those computer geeks are priceless ( I got lucky and married one)

  13. I'm just glad that Judy's photos weren't actually deleted from her HD. The actual problem was a 'corrupted database' in Picasa. I'll explain a bit about this, and how to fix it, in my next blog.

  14. Our lap top is in the shop because of something on face book and thought I might loose my pictures and most of all the pictures of my mom.

  16. I'm finding that each person I meet in the "RV World" is as nice and friendly as the next. I hope to use the hangout feature for any RV questions we may run into. How great would that be to have someone who knows what they're doing walk you through a problem... Sure love hearing about your adventures, Judy & Emma!
