I know it’s hardly been a half hour since I posted about my bad day, but it just got worse. If you read that post you know that I was concerned about Andy and his family visiting while I was under the weather. I just got a call from his wife, Kelly, and he is about to have an emergency appendectomy in Minnesota! I guess this visit was doomed. My thoughts are with him tonight…
Oh my. My thoughts and prayers are with both of you. So sorry you won't be with family this weekend. Hope your meds are kicking in! ~wheresweaver
ReplyDeleteOh no! So sorry to hear of all your troubles. Prayers are with you and your son that you'll both be better very very soon!
ReplyDeleteMy heart, thoughts and prayers are with you and your family this evening.
ReplyDeleteWe will be praying for you and for Andy.
ReplyDeleteMAN, what a day. Thoughts and prayers are with you and Andy!
ReplyDeleteAnd here I was thinking I had a bad day...nothing compared to your day. I sure hope you both get better soon. Prayers on the way.
ReplyDeleteOh, geez, Judy, this just hasn't been your day. I'll be thinking of you and Andy--offer still stands--contact me if I can be of any help at all. Keep us posted as you can.
ReplyDeleteOuch...I am so sorry for suh a bad day. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and Andy. Hope things get worked out with the insurance company and the CT scan.
ReplyDeleteOMG Judy! Keeping good thoughts for you and for Andy. I wonder if you are having sympathy pains for him! Hope all works out well for you . . . darn insurance companies. Can't live with 'em or without 'em. Keep us posted. Ann
ReplyDeleteThat is a really bad day:( we hope that it will all work out okay!
ReplyDeleteWhen it rains it pours. Good thing he was not already on the plane when he got his appendix attack! With proper care he should be good as new in a few days. Hope you are too.
ReplyDeleteWell, holy cow! By the time I got here I saw you had two posts so I read them both before commenting.... I'm almost at a loss for words but I do have to say that God truly works in mysterious ways... Surely with the surgery there will be something that can be done about the tickets with no penalty so it could be a blessing in disquise?
ReplyDeleteAnd now for you Little Missy... I hope by this late hour you've gotten your medication and are fast asleep, feeling much better! So thankful you're in the midst of caring friends to help you and take good care of you!!! And as for those blasted insurance people, what I think about em and how things are written so that no one can understand how to do things to make them happy... here's a big nose thumbing!!!!!
Those sure aren't the updates you want to hear. So sorry you are having to deal with this. ugh. Hoping it all works out ok for you with the insurance. As others have said, better to be NOT on an airplane when have an attack of appendicitis, and at least Andy can have the surgery. Hopefully you will have good luck with your scan and the insurance will take care of it. Geez, Judy...good luck.
ReplyDeleteAppendicitis is what I thought of when I read about YOUR pain. Imagine my surprise when I read it is ANDY having surgery. I hope that means I'm wrong about yours. Best wishes for good recoveries for both of you.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness he is in the hospital for it to be taken care of. Getting to the hospital is the biggest part of the solution.
ReplyDeleteWe're here for you and praying all will turn out well.
Oh Judy, I'm so sorry to hear about this double whammy. It sounds like bad new for everyone-- you and Andy having to deal with the medical issues (and even worse...the insurance hassles!), the kids missing out on their exciting camping trip to play with grandma and Emma, and Andy's wife having to care for kids alone with a husband in the hospital. Suckiness all the way around! Fingers crossed that you and Andy heal quickly and that the vacation can be rescheduled to the next pretty beach you're at.
ReplyDeleteOh Judy I'm so sorry for you all to miss this chance to be together that everyone was so looking forward to. But so glad that they got Andy into the hospital in time. Most folks I know who have had an appendectomy have sailed through it. Hoping this for Andy too and that you will feel much better soon.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear all of your bad news. I hope you are able to get our insurance details worked out so you can have that CT scan. I'm also sorry to hear about Andy's emergency appendectomy. Take care of yourself, Judy.
ReplyDeleteHope this isn't a double post - on the laptop at a KOA and my comment just blipped out...anyway, I was saying how sorry I am to read your bad news about both you and Andy. Hope you are able to get the insurance problem cleared up. Feel better Judy and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeletesorry to hear that the visit isn't going on as planned..hopefully you both with be on the mend soon!
ReplyDeleteOur thoughts are with you Judy and your son--what a bummer for all concerned!! Hope you get some answers from the CT folks!
ReplyDeleteAwwwww, crap, Judy!! Wishing you and yours better days ahead!
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed here that both your procedures go well.
ReplyDeleteTalk about Friday the 13th, your bad luck started a little early. My thought are with you and your son, hope you all are on the mend soon, and will get to have that reunion. Take care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteLife certainly occurs in the middle of our plans doesn't it? I hope all goes well for the both of you. Take care girl.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about all the illness for you and your son. Appendectomies are not the horror they were years ago, just glad they caught it in time. Diverticulitus can at least generally be controlled by diet. Friend that was just recently diagnosed was told besides anything with seeds to also avoid iceberg lettuce, to use only romaine as it has different digestive properties.
ReplyDeleteHope all goes well w/ scan, maybe as someone else said you are so connected to your son you were feeling his pain and are 100% ok.
Sure hope today brings some better news for both you and your Son!
ReplyDeleteWhoa.
ReplyDeleteBig email coming your way...
Thinking of you and wishing you all well today.
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling better today. Guess your family visit wasn't meant to be this time. Hope everyone is better soon.
ReplyDeleteOh my! When it rains, it pours. Sending my best wishes for successful surgery and quick recovery for Andy. At least it happened while he was home. My brother in law started having pains on the flight back from the US to Turkey ... and ended up in surgery for appendicitis just hours after landing.
ReplyDeleteOh Judy what a couple of days. I'm just catching up on some blog reading so I immediately went to yesterdays blog post. I have diveriticulosis (which is what it is called when it is not acting up) and I headed to ERs several times in pain and they never diagnosed it until i had my colonoscopy. That pain is awful and I so feel for you. Once they get it calmed down you'll find you need to be careful what you eat. I never eat popcorn anymore because of it and anything with lots of seed, for me sesame seeds are terrible. I hope they get you all taken care of. Insurance companies are a pain too.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh what a double whammy! We will all stay tuned to find out what happens next. You have us glued to our monitors and keyboards!

So sorry to read that you and your son are both under the weather. Hope you can reschedule their visit when you both feel better. Can you believe the prices they charge for CT scans and MRIs? It's no wonder insurance premiums are so high.
ReplyDeleteI missed your blog yesterday...and then today I didn't get on the computer till just now!! Boy, when it rains it pours...I am sending GOOD Karma out to Andy and his family (appendectomy isn't fun), and to you too!! Sure hope you get the diagnosis so you can control the pain with diet....Don't start with me about insurance...Just about the time we are really needing good insurance coverage, it is in a huge mess!!! Get that CT scan done ASAP...
ReplyDeleteI just popped over here from Donna's blog. Sorry to hear about your son - I had an emergency appendectomy in Sept. 2010, so I know how he feels! I hope his recover goes as smoothly as mine did. Hope he gets lots of rest over the coming weeks and takes it slow. :) I hope you are feeling better soon also!!
