Ya Hoo!

I’ve got power!

62 Pioneer Campground, IN summer, 201110

Dean made good on his word today, and about 3:00 he began work to bring a new power line to my site.  Notice the peanut gallery in the top right of the collage.  I haven’t met most of these folks, but they tend to show up whenever Dean starts digging somewhere.  One of them eventually came over and asked if that was my generator I had running.  Well, yes it is.  They all seemed to know quite a bit about me.  Must be the campground grapevine.  Perhaps it was Jack, since he seemed to know just about everyone in the place.  Smile

The result is that I have 50 amps tonight.  That’s an improvement since this site only came with 30 amps.  Some commenters wondered why I didn’t move to another site last Saturday.  Well, this is the site I paid for, and I happen to like it.  My other two choices of sites to move to really sucked, in my opinion.  I’m glad I stuck to my guns with the result of forcing Dean to make needed improvements to the camp.  It wasn’t easy  for me, and I was often second guessing my decision.  Right now I’m happy, and I hope no more kamikaze squirrels are around, and the storms don’t fell anymore trees.

Perhaps you noticed that the electrical hookup is attached to a tree.  I’m thinking that will change in the near future since with that set up they can’t meter my electrical usage and charge me for it.  So I’m in no rush for them to install the meter.  Tonight I feel like turning on the AC to 60* and using every electrical appliance I own!  Winking smile

Stan took their dog, Mitsy, to the vet today and things don’t look too good for her.  I’m waiting to hear the latest results of all the tests, but she was diagnosed with renal failure.  Pam will call me later to let me know what’s going on as they are now transporting her to an animal hospital that has 24 hour care.  At last report, the bill so far is $1000.  Ugh!

_MG_2404Since I was pretty well tied to the rig today with the generator running, I made a lot of progress on this book.  If you’ve ever watched “Deadliest Catch” on the Discovery Channel, I think you would enjoy this book.  I’ve been hooked on that show since it started.  These are real life characters, and a very interesting read.

I leave you tonight with my latest bouquet picked around my campsite.  I really hope things are on the up swing now…

Thanks for stopping by… talk to you later,  Judy

  3. Going to a 24hr. dog hospital can easily add $500 per night to the bill.

We love them, and we want to do the best for them. I remind myself of these things every time I look at a possible new pet!

  8. A/C on shore power. How wonderful is that. Maybe tonight you can get a real night's sleep in a cool house. I think it's so funny that the minute a person starts a project, the supervisors all show up.

  10. If you get a bit cold tonight, don't forget to put on an electric heater if you have one!

Congrats on the fix - that electrical hookup to the tree looks a bit sketchy though. Good thing inspectors weren't around to approve it.

  16. I had to have one of those vases after I read your blog about them. I ended up getting 3 for 6.95 on E bay. I thought that was a pretty good deal and I have two to share with my daughter and DIL. Glad you finally got your electric back up and running. It is raining buckets full here today, but much cooler, so, you take the bad with the good. Stay safe.
