♪ ♫ I feel good… ♫ ♪

♫ You know that I should, now…♫  This morning, Pam and I headed for Robyn’s house so I could pick up the new DISH receiver that I had sent to her house.  Stan didn’t quite feel up to the trip (with their recent loss of Mitzi), so it was a girl’s day out.  Of course, both of us were prepared to take advantage of their new pool, so it was a very refreshing morning.    Robyn, Dennis, the grandgirls, Pam, and I splashed around to our heart’s content for close to two hours. 

The plan was to catch lunch on the way back to the rigs at Corky’s.  And that’s what we did.  Hotdogs are big in the Chicagoland area.  I had stopped here for a ‘dog’ a while back, and wanted to introduce Pam to this eatery. 

Tunes from the 60’s were blasting away as we placed our orders.  This is a very busy place, and I was just lucky to get a few shots in between rushes.  A couple of guys gave us funny looks as I took pictures inside.

Pam ordered the ‘Chicago Dog’ with mustard, pick-a-lily, tomatoes, cucumber, onions, and a pickle. (that’s what I had the last time)  With fries, it came to a total of $2.99!  Can’t beat that.  I’ve decided to do a study on Italian Beef sandwiches in the area.  Next time, I’ll order it without the cheese.  I love Italian Beef sandwiches, and really haven’t found them except in the Chicago area.  I did that comparison study of shrimp po-boys in the south, so thought I should do the same here for Italian Beef.    It was huge, and ended my  eating for the day.

 

Once we got back home, I began the work of installing the new DISH receiver.  That’s really why I’m so happy.  Being technically challenged, I wasn’t sure how it would go for me.  It turned out, that the actual switch out was a breeze.  Then there was the matter of calling DISH to have the new receiver activated.  I actually got a person who spoke pretty good English, and after about a half hour, everything was working.  The only downside was that all my favorite channels and recording of shows has to be reprogrammed by me for this new receiver.  Ugh!  That will take some time to figure out what channels I want to record what shows, but all in all, I was kind of shocked that I got all those cables and things attached correctly. 

 

Pam, Stan, and their remaining dog George came over for the evening, and we chewed the fat for quite a while as the dogs got upset over the folks still setting off firecrackers in the area.  I sure wish fireworks were illegal in Indiana, but they’re not.  The 4th of July is over with for Pete’s sake!
