Quick post

As Wednesday evening wore on, I felt worse and worse.  After losing my dinner and trying to go to bed, I had the worst night I’ve ever had on the road.  I was awake most of the night trying to fight off the fever.  Thoughts ran through my head of one of the disadvantages of traveling solo.  When you’re sick, there’s no one to take care of you, or sympathize with your condition.  It makes for a great pity party, but doesn’t do anything to stop the shaking from the fever.  Medical issues are hard to deal with alone.

Yesterday was spent curled up being a couch potato.  Last night was a bit better, and today I only spent half the day on the couch.  Needless to say, I didn’t do any touring, and was lucky to get Emma out for a couple of very short walks.  Hopefully, I’ll bounce back this weekend.

Thanks for stopping by…. talk to you later,  Judy

  1. So sorry to hear you're sick. Sure hope you can shake this off and feel better soon. If I was close-by I would make you some homemade chicken soup. Take care.

  3. I can really empathize with your feelings. I've been there, and when you are really sick you shouldn't have to be alone. Hope you're feeling better soon.

  4. You are one amazing and strong lady, you'll get through this! Hang tough and fell better. If all else fails - Chicken Soup!

  5. Being the bird person you are Judy I wouldn't recommend chicken soup. Maybe turtle soup or something. Sounds like you may be over the worst of whatever you have & Emma will soon have you outside for some good old fresh air. And yes, your right.....being sick & being alone is not a good thing. Get well soon:))

  8. Fell ill on a solo road trip to California years back. Nope, not a good feeling - no pun intended. Really hope you're feeling better. Lots of folks out here in Blogland sending you "feel good" thoughts. Take care, take it easy for a while.

  9. I wholeheartedly agree with you .... it stinks to be alone when you're sick, on the road or at home. I had one of the scariest times of my life a couple years ago. When I began to come out of the stupor, I was really scared at how sick I was and there was no one here .... in case. {shiver}

I'm glad you're better. Take very gentle care of yourself! Emma depends on you, you know!

  10. I feel for you .. just had similar experience where I had to go to the hospital & was someplace where I had no one to look after the dog. Hope you are healthy soon!

  11. Sure hope tomorrow is a much better day for you and that you are feeling better. I hadn't really thought about being sick and alone. That would be a tough one to handle. Take care of yourself.

  14. Sure hope you're well on the mend; no fun being sick any time, but especially when you're on the road and alone.

  15. Judy, I hope you are feeling better SOON! Being sick is bad enough, but I also believe (from personal experience) that being sick in an RV is somehow worse.

  17. Judy, this seems to be a recurring illness--you might think about seeing a gastro doc--you could have a bug in your intestines (can you tell I'm a retired nurse) we are concerned about you!

  18. Bummer - nothing worse than being sick and alone. Sounds like you are improving but, I'm a nurse too, and agree with Janna and Mike that you may want to see a doc if this continues to happen.

  19. Sounds like a nasty virus. I think we all wish we could come and take care of you until you are feeling yourself again.

  23. That crud sounds very much like the flu I had last month...It seems to transition into a bad cough, if it's the same stuff. I'm still holding with the old stand by, Chicken Soup or broth for a few days...And...you may be physically alone, but not in our thoughts ...Group hug from the blogosphere!(DON'T ANYONE LET JUDY BREATHE ON YOU!)..just kidding..get well, girlfriend!

  24. Hope by now you are feeling a little better. Emma was hopefully some comfort for you - although having to walk a dog when you really don't feel like it isn't too much fun.

    Get well soon!
