The Appalachian ...I think dogs remember very well. The Appalachian Trail crosses under I-81 near Atkins, VA, and my dog Smoky and I spent a couple of nights there. Even years later when we would drive I-81 from NC to NY Smoky would sit up and look towards where the trail was, then he would go back to sleep after we had passed it. I'm sure he remembered being in the area, and he did the same thing on other occasions in other places.
